I can't say we have an "itinerary" per se but we try to get a general idea of who is where when. Considering the main goal of the weekend is to celebrate brotherhood and sisterhood and to have one helluva good time...
Friday night - those staying for the "weekend tour" arrive in Scranton... Depending on time of arrival people will meet at a gathering place yet to be determined... Not many of the establishments have schedules of entertainment posted yet.. Most probable meeting place will be the Scranton Liederkrantz. Once gathered up migration will take place to one of many multiple establishments..
Saturday "game day" - depending on the level of the participant, alarm time is anywhere from the crack of dawn to 10:00am. Most will trickle over again to the Liederkrantz to assemble, the bus of the "day tour" participants will arrive in Scranton around 10:00am. Line up is somewhere in the neighborhood of 11:00 - 11:30 usually in the area of Fire HQ on Mulberry St. Times and location are NOT CONFIRMED as of 2/1/2009. Parade steps off at 12:00pm, for more information from the parade committee please visit their website. After the parade march is completed participants and guests will make their way over to the St. Mary's Center for a social gathering sponsored by the members of the Scranton Professional Firefighters - Local 60. The party starts @ 1pm and ends at 6pm, after that it's link herding cattle so cell phones at a full charge is a necessity. The "day tourists" are back on the bus at 7pm and the rest of the night is no different than any other Saturday nite.
Sunday "recuperation day" - no explanation necessary. Those of us tough enough head down to Wilkes Barre to march with our brothers from the Local 104.
